Polar Bear
Muzički kritičar, Paul Morley, je muziku ovog londonskog kvinteta nazvao Dream Jazz. Od osnivanja 2004. Polar Bear je objavio četiri albuma od kojih je drugi, Held On The Tips Of Fingers (Babel, 2005), nominovan za cenjenu britansku nagradu Mercury Prize. Na ovom albumu se mogu čuti uticaji cool I free jazz-a, funk-a, elektronike i drum and bass-a. Bend je član F-IRE Collective udruženja za muzičare, koji neguju jedinstven muzički izraz, osnovanom u Londonu.
Njihova kreativnost i izvanredni koncerti ubiraju pohvale publike, kritike kao i mnogih muzičara. Članovi benda su sarađivali sa muzičarima kao što su: Django Bates, Brian Eno, Radiohead, Herbie Hancock, David Byrne i mnogim drugima. Retki su ansambli koji džez formama i instrumentalnom muzikom zahvate široku publiku. Polar Bear je jedan od tih!
Journalist Paul Morley wrote: It's a dream jazz!. Polar Bear were nominated for the 'Best band' award at the BBC Jazz Award 2004, while Sebastian Rochford, band's drummer was nominated for the 'Rising Star' award. Their second record, Held on the Tips of Fingers, merged elements of cool jazz, funk, free jazz, electronic and dance music, drum and bass. This album was selected as one of "100 Jazz Albums That Shook The World" by Jazzwise magazine. They are part of the F-IRE Collective - Fellowship for Integrated Rhythmic Expression, music community founded by Barak Schmool in London.
Members of the band individually collaborated with Django Bates, Brian Eno, Radiohead, Herbie Hanckok, David Byrne and many others.
Boris Kovač je kompozitor, instrumentalista, producent... Piše muziku za sastave u kojima nastupa, ali i za pozorište i film. Balkansku apokalipsu sa poslednjim činom bombardovanja, doživeo je kao svojevrstan sumrak istorije i upravo to je bila inspiracija za Last Balkan Tango projekat kojim je sugerisao da se umesto očaja izabere ples. Ovaj album izabran je od strane Songlines-a kao jedan od 50 najznačajnijih albuma ikada.
David Yengibarjan je rođen 1976. u Jermeniji. 1999. osniva Trio Yengibarjan sa željom da stvori fuziju argentinskog tanga, “novog tanga” Astor Piazzola-e i različitih žanrova folk muzike. Yengibarjan je nastupao u Parizu, Londonu, Amsterdamu, Budimpešti, Beču kao i na Edinburškom internacionalnom festivalu. Komponovao je muziku za nekoliko filmova.
Između njihovih muzika postoji izvesna bliskost - obojica su iz istočne Evrope i bliske su im mediteranske boje i sentimenti, te ćemo rezultat proba - koje će prethoditi u danima pre početka Interzona, imati prilike da čujemo premijerno!
Boris Kovač is a composer, instrumentalist and multimedia artist from Novi Sad, Serbia. With La Danza Apocalyptica Balcanica he’s on a furious ride across the musical languages of the Balkans with only one thought in mind: Dance! Right here and right now, for it could be your last! The album The Last Balkan Tango was chosen as one of Songlines’ 50 Essential Albums.
David Yengibarjan was born in 1976 in Yerevan, Armenia. In 1999 he founded Trio Yengibarjan with the aspiration to create a fusion of the Argentinean tango, the “New Tango” of Astor Piazzolla, and various types of folk music. David has played before audiences in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Budapest, Vienna and at the Edinburgh International Festival.
They are both from Eastern Europe and familiar with Mediterranean sentiment, thus they are not concerned about the result of the rehearsals preceding this Interzone. For all the guests, but also for two of them the concert will be premiere!
Limpe Fuchs je improvizatorka i kompozitorka akustičnih i vizuelnih događaja. Osnovala je “Anima Sound” eksperimentalni free jazz sastav, čija je muzika bitno uticala na Krautrock žanr. Njenu metodologiju rada opisuje jednostavno: stvarati “bez formalizama”, “bez objašnjenja”.
Gerard Herman je rođen 1989. Kao saksofonista priključio se izuzetnom free jazz sastavu u Belgiji Sheldon Siegel-u. Gerard se koristi metodama musique concrète, osim “buke” i saksofona upotrebljava isečke iz svojih radio emisija, nemuzičke predmete i field recording (zvučne beleške “sa terena”).
Limpe Fuchs i Gerard Herman su pravi dokaz univerzalnosti i među-generacijske saradnje u improvizovanoj muzici. Njihovi koncerti su spoj instrumenata koje je napravila Fuchs, njene viole, Hermanovog ručno napravljenog Dišanovog točka, alt saksofona i izražajnog vokala, zaista - veličanstven muzički doživljaj!
Limpe Fuchs is a composer of acoustic and visual happenings who creates sound with unusual instruments. Her project Anima sound was often cited as a major influence on Krautrock. She says of her recent work: “the visual aspect is of the same importance as the acoustic… Life and music alive…”
Gerard Herman was born in 1989. He played sax in Belgium’s youngest and most extraordinary free jazz combo Sheldon Siegel. Gerard uses musique concrète, “noise” and sax, works with field recordings, excerpts from his radio shows, hook poetry, nonmusical objects and home-made instruments
Limpe Fuchs and Gerard Herman proved the universal and cross-generation language of improvised music. Their concerts evolve around Fuchs’ creatures, her viola, Herman’s DIY duchampwheel, alt sax and expressive vocal interplay- a truly wonderful live experience!
Rođena je 1980. godine. Nakon intenzivnog bavljenja klasičnom muzikom postala je članica pop grupe u kojoj je svirala od 2007. do 2010. godine. U to vreme počinje da piše originalnu muziku za grupu, a takođe i za svoje solo projekte. Njen trenutni solo projekat, pod nazivom „Life“, uključuje glas, violinu i violu. Projekat se bavi emocijama koje je doživljavala u raznim fazama života, od detinjstva pa do danas.
She was born in 1980. After her devotion to classical music at the beginning of her musical carrier, in 2007 she became a member of a pop band. Dresch Mihály Trio
Dresch Mihály je saksofonista i trenutno jedan od najinteresantnijih džez i folk muzičara na mađarskoj sceni. Spojio je tradicionalni američki free jazz zvuk sa elementima mađarske narodne muzike, što je rezultiralo veoma originalnim kompozicijama moderne muzike. Već na početku bavljenja džezom razvio je prepoznatljiv stil sviranja uz fantastičnu tehniku imprivizacije, te je odmah privukao pažnju muzičara i publike. Sarađivao je sa muzičarima kao što su John Tchicai, Archie Shepp, Roscoe Mitchell, Chico Freeman, a bio je i član kvarteta Károly Binder. Trenutno ima svoj trio u kome svira sa Ajtai Péter-om i Miklós Szilveszer-om.

Dresch Mihály is a Hungarian saxophone player, and one of the most interesting jazz and folk musicians on the current Budapest scene. He was a member of the Károly Binder Quartet. From early on, his distinguished style of playing and fantastic improvisational technique, won the attention of professionals as well as the audience. Over the years Dresch and his musicians have played and recorded with such artists as John Tchicai, Archie Shepp, Roscoe Mitchell, Chico Freeman. Currently he plays with Ajtai Péter and Miklós Szilveszer.
Magazine Gramofon awarded his album the title "Hungarian jazz album of the year, 2004". Dresch has performed at jazz festivals worldwide, including the London Jazz Festival.
Katja Cruz je argentinskog porekla, rođena u Gracu. Njeni prethodni albumi su kombinacija argentinskih, brazilskih i kubanskih ritmova, gde je sarađivala sa širokim spektrom muzičara instrumentalista na harmonici, flauti, saksofonu i klaviru. Ona obožava da se poigrava glasom, ponekad se čak i oni kojima je maternji jezik onaj na kojem peva - izgube u njenim spiralama vokala i slatkosti konsonanata.
„Za mene je razumevanje široke lepeze zvukova i potraga za njihovim izvorom jedan beskrajan proces“, rekla je Katja Cruz.

Katja Cruz is a nativeArgentineanbornin Graz, Austria. Her previous albums were blend of Argentinean, Brazilian and Cuban rhythms, where she collaborated with various musicians combining her voice with accordion, flute, saxophone and piano. Cruz loves verbal wizardry, and even native speakers will find themselves lost in her twisted vowels and treacly consonants.
“For me, perceiving this rich tapestry of sound and pursuing them to their very source is a never-ending process”, said vocal wonder Katja Cruz.
